Five Reasons Why We Can’t Get Enough of Denzel Washington

What is there not to admire about this renowned Hollywood actor? The answer is little, very little because with his talent, good looks, suave, awards, and a resonating voice amongst his other qualities Denzel Washington is one of the royalties in an industry teeming with a great deal of talent and professionals.

Who exactly is Denzel Washington?

Born in New York on December 28, 1954 to the family of Mrs. Lennis and Mr. Denzel Hayes Washington Sr. Denzel attended Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Florida then went on to Fordham University where he played basketball and earned a BA in Drama and Journalism in 1997. He later returned to study acting then attended graduate school at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, California.  Denzel made his debut in a feature film 1981 titled; Carbon Copy, since then he has featured in over 40 movies including: A Soldier’s Story (1984); Freedom Cry (1987); Malcolm X (1992); Devil in a Blue Dress (1995); He Got Game (1998); The Bone Collector (1999); Training Day (2001); The Book of Eli (2010); The Equalizer (2014); The Magnificent 7 (2016) and recently released sequel – The Equalizer 2 (2018).

Denzel has had an illustrious career and continues to thrill fans and movie lovers alike. It is no wonder he has been the recipient of several awards which include two Oscars – Best-Supporting Actor in Glory and Best Actor in Training Day – and three Golden Globe Awards. Denzel Washington has continued to remained relevant over the span of his long career without showing any signs of slowing down. There are a variety of reasons why he’s had this amount of success; however, here are five attributes he possesses which help explain his longevity:

Exceptional Talent

Denzel Washington belongs to an elite league of actors who’ve risen to fame and success not by their good looks alone but by their enormous talent. He has always found ways to take on very different roles and…Woah, does he bring them to life! This has won him many awards and gained him numerous recognition and respect from fellow actors and fans alike.

Professionalism

Every actor or director that has worked with him either when he is acting, directing or producing have had nothing but praise for him because he demands the best of himself. This is shown in his movies and inspires those working with him to improve.

Attractiveness

There cannot be a discussion about Denzel that does not discuss how he has the face moviegoers want to see. There is no doubt that attractiveness is an important feature for actors who have any aspirations of a lead role. With his height, infectious smile and handsome features, he instantly draws in all types of people. He has a very smooth persona and rich voice that makes him easy to love and engage with.

Relatability

There is something about Denzel that gives him the perception of being very organic and relatable. Maybe it’s due to his down to earth personality that he gives off in his interviews. Whether he is acting or living his everyday life, he leaves one with the sense that one can be like him. This is why he is a role model to – not only aspiring black actors/actresses – but actors and actresses of all races alike. Adaptability

As mentioned before, Denzel Washington has assumed a diverse range of roles over the span of his career and this is somewhat an underrated attribute of his. Whether playing an activist, cop, rogue agent, director or action star he has always taken on different roles and made them count. In an ever-evolving industry with talented up-and-comers, Denzel has stayed relevant. So needless to say we all love Denzel for providing excellent performances and remaining himself throughout. Fans and movie enthusiast alike hope he continues to thrill and act as long as he can.
